Prayers of the Faithful

PRIEST: Together in faith, let us present our prayers to our Mother- Father God—

We ask Lord, that you help us to be a tender-hearted people, showing kindness, mercy and grace to all, and helping those in need. We pray to the Lord. Lord hear our prayer.

As we pray for our country, it is important for our country to acknowledge when our government has been discriminatory, oppressive and cruel, and to ask God to forgive us and to change us and to correct these wrongs in the present. We pray for our nation to correct the oppression of putting a woman’s womb under the control of the state government. We pray to the Christ.

We pray for all the people who wish to come to this country to escape violence. Lord, keep them safe and may your grace allow them to arrive to a place of safety for them and their families. We pray for all people who come to our shores seeking a better life. May we receive them in love. We pray to the Lord.

We pray for all sexual and gender minorities, continually held under threat of discrimination by our courts and legislatures. We pray for transgender children and their parents who have unmercifully been singled out for special rights exclusions. We pray to the Christ.

We pray that all in the US will be able to recognize the TRUTH, not lies, by the conviction of our hearts.

May we forgive those who spread untruth and see them changed and filled with the Light of Truth.  We pray to the Lord.

May all of us find the reality of who you are in our lives, O Lord: Father, Mother, lover, helper, comforter, healer, and most of all, a friend. May this knowledge and wisdom comfort us in times of crisis, uplift us in times of need, spur us on to social justice, and bring us a new joy in our lives. We pray.

PRIEST: Father, we place our needs before you with a deep faith, and trust that your love and grace will hear these petitions, through your Son, Christ our Lord. Amen.
